TREND TALK: A Look at What’s Hot at Home for Summer

If you’re anything like us, we love to keep close tabs on what’s new and what’s next in furniture, lighting and accessories. And with the summer markets in full swing, we’re excited to share a sneak peek of some of the season’s hottest trends -- literally.

Color, always an essential part of any design scheme, is heading bold and bright right now. These optimistic shades infuse interiors with energy and warmth, but mostly they just make you feel happy. And who couldn’t use a little more of that right now? Predicted to trend into 2020, bright color combinations reference the Memphis design movement founded by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass in the early 1980’s. Colorful and playful, Memphis emphasized geometry and asymmetrical shapes. In any case, we’re partial to this palette’s lively spirit, especially in primary hues like bright blue, yellow and red.

Our technology-obsessed world has everyone craving a greater connection to the earth. For the home, that means bringing pieces inside that are made from natural elements, such as wood and stone. Our bond to the outdoors is reinforced through the daily use of natural designs, resulting in a more peaceful, harmonious environment. Rustic yet still sophisticated, these organic styles promote simplicity and calm.
