BEHIND THE LENS
by Cheryl Bever, Graphics & Media for Howard Elliott
I hate having my picture taken. Probably the weirdest thing you would hear from someone that does photography, right? But if you think about it, there is a reason photographers are always behind the camera and not in front of it ☺. They want to capture the beauty in their surroundings or of the subject they are shooting, not they, themselves.
Colleen, our Director of Sales, told me that the comedian Carrot Top visited our Las Vegas Showroom once and said, “Wow! This isn’t a place you can be self conscious in.” And you know what? When you think about it, he couldn’t be more right! Surrounded by mirrors at every turn, look, and there you are from every angle!
I have been taking photos of mirrors for Howard Elliott for almost 7 years now and have grown accustomed to seeing, and even NOT seeing myself in every one. Now when I shoot the new samples I find myself taking a few funny pictures of my reflection. Because hey, even though it is work, you have to have a little fun with it.
Mr. Berk even can't help getting captured in a few reflections!
How about you? Are you a “Check yourself out” in the shop windows kind of person? Or are you more of a “Look at everything BUT your reflection” person? Tell us in the comments.
